I wrote this song about my early childhood days growing up on the Chicks Beach on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach, VA.
The summers are humid & often there would be late night volleyball games on the beach.
We all really watched out for each other.
It was a magical time in my life.
Wouldn't it be cool if we could all just hug it out over a Hot Summer Day at the beach.

HOT SUMMER DAY music & words by: Lisa Marshall
copyright 2009
V1- well, donʼt you want to feel this day
Love will take us higher
Donʼt need to pass us by, when thereʼs so, so little required
Pre- Let your light shine through
Hear your voice come through the darkness Some days itʼs easier
To imagine a world of peace and kindness
Ch- Come on, come on over
Itʼs nice to see you again
Itʼs good to be here where you are in our shining place in the sand
V2- Iʼm believing in who you are
A part of all thatʼs right
A gleam of hope to pierce the dark Pulling us all here together
Pre- Let your light shine through
Hear your voice come through the darkness
Some days itʼs easier to imagine a world of peace and kindness
Chorus
Bridge- And if itʼs hard to feel it, coming down like rain
A hot summer day will find us singing out the only tune which matters anyway
Modulate chorus- out
